For the first time on January 27, 1994, the Ashgabat city telephone network was registered with number №235 by the Main Computing Center and was included among the enterprises within the structure of the Ministry of Communications of Turkmenistan.By the Decree No. 14211 of the President of Turkmenistan dated April 17, 2015, on the basis of the state enterprise of the Ashgabat city telephone network, from October 1, 2015, the Joint-Stock Company 'Ashgabat City Telephone Network' was established. The shareholders of the Joint-Stock Company 'Ashgabat City Telephone Network' are the 'Turkmenaragatnashyk' agency (former Ministry of Communications of Turkmenistan), 'Turkmentelecom' electrocommunication company and 'Altyn Asyr' JSC.Being one of the authorized communication operators of Turkmenistan, the Joint-Stock Company 'Ashgabat City Telephone Network' provides customers in Ashgabat with various services, including landline telephone, Internet, IP television, radio communication in CDMA 450 D standard and other services.More than a hundred digital telephone exchanges are technically serviced in the capital's telephone communication network, most of which operate in modern NGN and IP switching standards. By establishing cooperation with world-famous foreign operators, the Joint-Stock Company 'Ashgabat City Telephone Network' was provided with high-speed telecommunication channels from different places at interstate connection points and offers customers high-quality Internet services.The number of customers using IPTV services has exceeded 100,000. In its future development, the Joint-Stock Company 'Ashgabat City Telephone Network' plans to further improve the quality of the services provided and increase their types. For these purposes, one of the main areas of development is the creation of broadband communication systems for customers with high data transmission capacity. Considering that fiber-optic transport systems have high performance in this area, the Joint-Stock Company 'Ashgabat City Telephone Network' continues to consistently build distribution communication systems based on GPON (Gigabit passive optical network) technology by bringing optical cables to the customers' homes.In the production activity of the Joint-Stock Company 'Ashgabat City Telephone Network', special attention is paid to creating convenience and facilities for customers to use various services. Special software and its add-ons are created and put into use for customers to perform various actions online when using services, such as connecting or canceling services, reporting malfunctions, knowing the balance, making payments, etc. At the same time, work is underway to create a single 'Call center' system to provide information to customers interested in the services of other institutions, for example, information on schedules of car, railway and passenger traffic.In its production activities, the Joint-Stock Company 'Ashgabat City Telephone Network' is guided by and implements the policy of the President of Turkmenistan 'The state is for the people'.
