At the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2026), Sber announced its latest development. According to the bank, "Neo" is the world's first payment terminal featuring an integrated artificial intelligence system.
The key feature of "Neo" is its intelligent biometric system. The payment terminal recognizes the customer by their face under any lighting conditions, thanks to a combination of lidar, a ToF camera for 3D mapping, and AI algorithms. The device's screen automatically adjusts its tilt angle, adapting to the specific buyer.
"Neo" is equipped with an 8-core processor with a neural processing unit (NPU) and a display with a resolution 60% higher than that of the previous generation.
The terminal supports all modern payment methods: cards, smartphones, QR codes, and biometrics. It also allows customers to arrange a purchase with installment payments (BNPL), leave tips, and utilize "Spasibo" bonus points.
By the end of the year, the bank plans to install the first few thousand devices; the pre-order period is already open.
