Microsoft has introduced an innovative tool called Copilot Health. It is a personal assistant based on artificial intelligence that can analyze complex medical information and explain it to the user in understandable language. The service can interpret doctors' prescriptions, explain test results and give personal recommendations.
The main feature of Copilot Health is its ability to combine data from different sources. With the user's consent, the system combines data from electronic medical records, medication intake logs and metrics from wearable devices such as Apple Watch or Fitbit. Based on this data, the AI helps monitor symptoms and gives recommendations tailored to the person's health condition.
Data security was the main priority when creating the service. Users' medical information is securely encrypted and kept completely separate from Copilot's general chats. Strict identity verification via the CLEAR service and encryption of data in transit are used to protect personal data.
Importantly, chat histories and medical data are not used to train Microsoft's neural networks. Users retain full control over their data: medical information can be edited or completely deleted at any time.
The new service will be especially useful for people with chronic conditions that require constant monitoring. The tool has already been integrated with data from more than 50,000 hospitals and laboratories. The project will first be rolled out in phases in the US, followed by expansion to other countries, as well as the introduction of a paid subscription for additional features.
