Apple is preparing a massive update to its Apple Intelligence system in iOS 27 and iPadOS 27, featuring expanded text processing and writing capabilities.
New Writing Tools
According to sources, Apple is testing an updated suite of Writing Tools that will introduce features for:
Text rewriting
Text generation
Editing and stylistic adjustments
A dedicated "Write With Siri" toggle will appear within the keyboard interface, and when the assistant is activated in text fields, a "Help Me Write" function will become available.
Grammar Checking and Competition with Grammarly
The company is also developing an AI-powered grammar checking tool that closely mirrors the functionality of services like Grammarly. The system will be able to:
Suggest corrections
Provide stylistic recommendations
Display edits in a separate pop-up menu
Managing Edits Across Applications
The new system will be deeply integrated into Messages, Mail, and other services across the Apple ecosystem. Users will be able to:
Accept or reject individual changes
Apply all corrections at once
Completely ignore suggestions
Temporarily disable the check function
The interface will also feature quick navigation between flagged text segments.
Apple Intelligence Context
While Apple currently utilizes basic spell checking, the new features will significantly expand text processing capabilities through generative AI. The update will mark the next step in evolving Apple Intelligence as a deeply integrated AI platform within the company's operating systems.
Presentation
The new Writing Tools and Apple Intelligence features are expected to be officially unveiled at the WWDC 2026 conference, which kicks off on June 8, 2026.
