On June 29–30, 2026, the Ministry of Communication of Turkmenistan, in cooperation with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), held a two-day forum titled "Future of Connectivity." The in-person event, hosted at the ministry's venue, brought together representatives of government bodies, regulators, telecom operators, and the academic community from the CIS countries.
The forum's agenda covered key trends in the development of mobile and fixed networks, including Wi-Fi 6/7/8 standards, LEO/MEO/GEO satellite communications, Direct-to-Device connectivity, and the application of artificial intelligence in network management. Dedicated sessions focused on transport infrastructure, private cellular networks, and the utilization of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in mobile frequency bands.
The event featured presentations by leading ITU experts: Vadim Poskakukhin (Technical Director of Ubiquitous Wireless LLP), Konstantin Savin (Head of the Technical Department at GSMA Eurasia), and Vahan Hovsepyan (Senior Advisor at RIPE NCC).
Over the course of the two-day forum, the experts answered pressing questions from the participants, summarizing the practical experience of implementing advanced standards. In particular, the specialists analyzed the technical aspects in detail. Special attention was dedicated to the mutual integration of artificial intelligence and telecommunications.
